i want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes - great to hear from you
you'll be happy to know that its been a good one so far....beautiful day (the weather has been unbelievably nice these last couple of weeks - lots of sun and mild temps, everything is in bloom - and its forecast to stay this way a while!!!) finally got my hair cut and it looks nice!
currently sitting in my favorite bar, listening to great music and looking out on the chateau de duchesse anne, drinking an afternoon beer! what a treat!
in other news - it looks like i will indeed be returning to durham this summer - got a job teaching french at jordan high school!! i'm a little anxious about the switch to high school but i've never been one to shy away from a challenge so it's cool.
now just have to find an apartment for me and the rico-man!
lately, things have been pretty status quo...teaching is good, etc.
had a WONDERFUL weekend in la rochelle, on the coast last week.

we had an amazing meal that night - i even ate raw oysters, for which la rochelle is very famous. they were pretty good! still not sure they're my favorite thing to eat but at least i can say i had them!
big thanks to kelly for putting us up and showing us around. who knows - we may even go back when it gets warmer and do the beach thing....
off to dinner tonight with miss rachel and our buddy carina - who, incidentally, has the same birthday as me and then we three will be throwing a joint party this weekend.
hope to put pictures from that up asap.
